Friendship Gospel Choir

black american gospel music

Information for English speaking visitors

Would you like to join in African-American gospel music? If you are between the age of sixteen and fiftyfive years old,
then this could be your chance!

The Choir
The Friendship Gospel Choir was founded over twenty one years ago. Since then we have grown into a choir, filled with enthusiasm in singing black American gospel music in the style and tradition of many African-American churches and gospel music artists such as John P. Kee, Richard Smallwood, Hezekiah Walker, etc. Our choir is ambitious and is a unique combination of faith through song and the inspiration of the African-American gospel music.

The Friendship Choir sings around the Utrecht area, at various events/occasions including church services, community events, (see concerts listed below). Choir director Edith Casteleyn continues to lead the choir in her own unique way, supported by a select group of exceptionally talented and professional musicians.

We rehearse once every two weeks (even weeks) on Wednesday from 19:30 to 22:00 at Crescendo, Plataanlaan 3, 3741 WE Baarn.

We always have room for enthusiastic singers to join our spirit-filled sopranos, inspirational altos and powerful tenors/bass sections.

If you have any questions you can call or email our president Liesbeth Bakker
